Counselling and Therapy in Shoreham-by-Sea

Welcome to my website. I hope that you will find it easy to follow and informative.

Location
I practice in Shoreham by Sea, Shoreham by Sea station is about 12 minutes walk away which makes it an easy option for commuters from Brighton, Hove, Portslade and Southwick or westwards; Lancing, Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor. There is easy access parking in Shoreham, which is free. I can see clients in Hove if getting to Shoreham is difficult.

Who is it for?
Anybody who is experiencing some difficulty in their life; whether it is a particular crises or difficulties that have been ongoing for sometime, and who wants to grain a greater understanding of their situation.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues such as general depression, anxiety, relationship issues, death and loss, sex and sexuality, anger [difficulties with its expression and management], low self-confidence, lack of self-esteem. Experience and Training
I have been working with individuals since 2006. I have extensive experience of working with individuals and families prior to qualifying as a counsellor. I was a mediator for 10 years working with people in dispute, specialising in families in dispute with their teenage children. I was a member of a family therapy training group at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, (CAMHS) from 2005 until 2007. I have worked with a individuals, couples and families with varying and wide ranging issues.

I trained as an Integrative counsellor at Northbrook College, Worthing, graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative counselling. Through my training I experienced different models associated with counselling, such as Attachment Theory, (John Bowlby), Psychoanalytical, (Freud) Person Centred, (Carl Rogers) and Transactional Analysis. I am working towards becoming an Accredited counsellor. I hold a Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy from training with the Tavistock Clinic, London. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Go to "About Isabella" for more information about me.

Core Beliefs
I believe that every person is unique and special. I draw on a number of counselling approaches in order be as effective as possible. My aim is, at all times, to respect you as an individual which includes how you have managed throughout your life up to the present day. I hope to support you in making changes that help you in your daily life. Developing a professional counselling relationship can uncover deeply held beliefs and values and self-knowledge that can lead us towards a more authentic and enlivening day to day existence.

Fees
My fees are: £35 for individual sessions (60-minutes long) and £55 for couples sessions (60-minutes long). Initial ‘meeting’ sessions are free. To find out more see my "Costs" page.
